Been a quiet few days, and I’ve been playing with pieces that have continued to evolve for some years now. I’m also studying new collage pieces deciding which direction to go.
I’ve taken the space back over get the fortune of looking the finished works as such to refer to for new stuff.

Grantspass Skatepark - 2 years ago on our "Epic Skatetour 2017".... made a huge body of work out of that trip, drawing the parks, landscapes and following my boys' lines through both with a single Pilot precise pen, and eventually some color. This entire series is now on view @drawingroomsf. ⁣

I'm finally diving into these paper tapestry pieces. The idea is to infuse 2 different bodies of work into each other and see if they can form something new. I'm not totally sure where this is going, but it is fun to play around with cut strips of paper. ⁣

Thanks to all the rain, the abuses my succulent garden receive from nightly visitors seem to be forgiven and these poor plants just keep on growing and healing. I guess we all just need a little more water and sunshine.....⁣

Working on a new piece for a fundraiser -it’s a juried thing so I’ll keep you posted if it makes it in. I’m working on it on the mural wall so there’s a little influence there but mostly it’s layers upon layers of line, color, line, color and more of both. This piece started as an Impressions piece, which has been printed, embossed and dyed. From there, I’ve been defining the lines and spaces that were created with the press and screens. Fun and cathartic. Not sure where it will go next...

So here’s me sharing some insights about my work, process and the importance of drawing as a daily practice today @drawingroomsf. Today was the final round of artist talks and I have to just day that I am so humbled and honored to work with these women. These artist talks have been so inspiring for me - I can’t wait to do them again...in a few months (mama’s tired!!). We had over 50 people in attendance and I think the crowd left inspired, enlightened and minds full. So many stories were shared these past weeks - and everyone’s so different yet connected. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported and for all the beautiful women who shared their work and words with us. I’m already churning ideas if collaborations and shows and new bodies of work. And it’s April. No fool’s day here.

Working on a new deck for SF Skateclub’s fundraiser Push it Forward. Zander insisted that I do and OG board, so that’s what I’m doing cuz the kid is almost always right. The big day is April 14th and The Luggage Store has kindly opened their space to host these awesome kids. It’s funny - all the work I make these days is part of the actual @drawingroomsf I’ve been waiting for the weather to dry the wood out a bit so I could continue to dive into the mural on the frontage. I finally got the nudge I needed a couple weeks ago with a tag across the front of my large planter box. I’ve been waiting, you could say anxiously as it could mean so many things. In this case, it was the perfect scribble to start a drawing from so that’s what I did today. I made it into something more than a random signature of someone who does not stop in and say Hi, pay the rent or even sweep the floors or have the cahones to properly introduce themself and ask me my name. I thank them though for pinching me to get off my ass and draw...and collaborate.

This set of doors is currently hanging in the backroom @drawingroomsf. These pieces were once my work tables, and the marks made over years of dying, screenprinting, painting and mess-making created a beautiful foundation to dig into. These are my most current works, in fact it takes a tremendous amount of self control to not keep picking at them. ⁣
